Spores

In biology, reproductive structures adapted for dispersal and surviving for extended periods of time in unfavourable conditions. Spores form part of the life cycles of many bacteria, plants, fungi and protozoa. They can live for a very long time even in especially hostile circumstances because they have practically no metabolism.
