	Enterobacteriaceae (commonly called enterobacteria) are bacteria occurring in the guts of animals or humans. Enterobacteria belong to the family of facultative anaerobes, meaning that they require no oxygen (O2) for their metabolism. E. coli is a typical member of this family.
